From install to your first command.

  1. 01 · Install
  2. 02 · Try
  3. 03 · Buy
  4. 04 · Activate

Four steps, and the first two cost nothing. There is no account to create and nothing to sign in to: a license is a signed key your machine checks on its own.

Windows 64-bit · AutoCAD 2025 or later · free 15-day trial

  1. Install the plugin

    Free

Download the installer and run it with AutoCAD closed. It installs into your own Windows account, so it never asks for administrator rights. On the next launch AutoCAD asks whether to trust MD Automation as the publisher: accept, and an MD Plugins tab appears in the ribbon. Every plugin you own shares that one tab.

You get · MD Plugins tab in the ribbon

  2. Try it free for 15 days

    Free

Type MDLICENSEMANAGER in AutoCAD, open the Plugins tab, and click Start trial on the plugin's row. No account, no payment, no sign-in. The trial runs for 15 days and can be started once per machine.

    You get · 15-day trial, no sign-in

  3. Buy a license

    Once

One payment per plugin, and it is yours for good: a Standalone license is perpetual, tied to one machine, and verified without a network connection. Checkout hands you a payment confirmation code, which is what you quote when you ask for your key.

You get · Payment confirmation code

  4. Activate your key

    Done

Back in the License Manager, choose Standalone license and click Request license. That drafts your request with the Machine ID already filled in; add your confirmation code and send it. Your signed key arrives by email within two business days. Paste it into the Licenses tab and click Validate: the commands unlock immediately, with no restart.

You get · Signed key · verified offline

LT versions of AutoCAD do not support .NET plugins, so the MD plugins cannot run there.
