Activate your licence

Everything licence-related happens in the Licence Manager, opened with the MDLICENSEMANAGER command. It always opens, even unlicensed, so a new user can activate. It has two tabs: Plugins (start a trial or request a licence per plugin) and Licences (validate a standalone key).

Every plugin includes a 15-day free trial so you can evaluate it before buying: no account, no payment, no credit card.

  1. Run MDLICENSEMANAGER and open the Plugins tab.

  2. On the plugin’s row, click Start trial and confirm the prompt.

The trial activates instantly and the commands unlock for 15 days; the row’s badge shows Trial (and Expired once the term ends). The trial is bound to this machine, so only one trial can be started per machine: it can’t be restarted or reset later, even after a reinstall.

A Standalone licence is a signed key bound to your machine. You request it from inside AutoCAD, we issue it, and you paste it back: no account, no sign-in.

  1. Buy a licence on the pricing page. After checkout you get a payment confirmation code.

  2. Run MDLICENSEMANAGER on the machine you want to license and open the Plugins tab.

  3. On the plugin’s row, open the licence-type dropdown and choose Standalone licence.

  4. Click Request licence. This opens an email draft pre-filled with your Machine ID (the full request is also copied to your clipboard). Add your payment confirmation code and send it.

The same row with Standalone license now selected in the dropdown and the Request license button being clicked

  5. We confirm your payment and email back your signed key, within two business days.

  6. Open the Licences tab, expand Standalone licence validation, paste the key into the Licence key field, and click Validate.

The Licences tab with Standalone license validation expanded, the Licence key field and Validate button outlined, and two products below already showing as Activated

The key is verified instantly and locally. On success the licence shows as Activated on the Licences tab, the plugin reads Licensed on the Plugins tab, and the commands unlock: no restart, no sign-in.

What the key is, why it is tied to this machine, and what that guarantees: how standalone keys work.

The single-user and floating types the dropdown also lists are not offered at present; see how licensing works.

If the key is refused, the message tells you which of four things went wrong: see Troubleshooting.
