Plugin 01 · Essentials
Align & Distribute
Fourteen commands to align objects to a shared edge or centre line, distribute them evenly, space them with an exact gap, or snap them to the drawing grid. Everything works on each object’s geometric bounding box, so lines, blocks, text and hatches all behave the same.

Overview
What it does
- Align to left, right, top, bottom, or centres: one click from the ribbon
- Distribute evenly, or with an exact gap between objects
- Snap object centres to the drawing grid with MDALIGNGRID
- Ribbon, right-click menu, or command line, with autocomplete icons
Run every command from the Arrange panel on the shared MD Plugins ribbon tab, from the right-click menu, or by typing it, with AutoCAD's own autocomplete icons.
In detail
How it earns its place.
Align to any edge or centre line
Six one-click commands plus an interactive MDALIGN that prompts for the edge. Nothing is reshaped: objects are only moved, so geometry, scale and rotation come through untouched.
Even spacing, or an exact gap
MDDISTRIBUTE spaces object centres evenly between the two outermost objects. MDDISTRIBUTEGAP lays them out edge to edge with the gap you type, the version AutoCAD never shipped.
Snap to the drawing grid
MDALIGNGRID moves each object’s centre to the nearest snap point, using the drawing’s own SNAPBASE and SNAPUNIT. Useful for tidying a layout that drifted off-grid.
